RENO AT LAST!!!

So we finally  made it here to Reno, NV. I say finally, because even though it only took us like 2 days to get here (yes we took it slow), but I feel like we are finally all moved in and kind of getting settled into life here in this new place. It took us so long because when we first got here the original apartment we moved into had some neighbors that just happened to be constant smokers. Honestly I think the only thing they did all day was smoke in their apartment, and unfortuately the smell came into our apartment really really bad. So Nick decided to go talk to the management and see if there was anyway we could switch to another place that we wouldnt get lung cancer from. :) Originally they told us that we would have to wait 3 weeks to move to another place, and that was a little annoying. But I think we bugged them enough times in those 2 days that they miraculously were able to find a place the following week. SO... that made me much much happier! Although, moving all of our stuff again was still a pretty big pain, but I am very glad we did it because this new apartment is very nice and best part is there is NO smoke! ;)
Now that we are all unpacked and everything, we have just been able to enjoy Reno a little bit more. It actually is a pretty nice city. There seems to be alot more to do here than in Pocatello (although i know that isnt saying much) but we like it so far. Nick and I were both really hoping that the weather here would be nice and warm, unlike Pocatello, but alas... I think the weather here is just about the same. Well its porbably a little bit warmer, but we were also hopeing to get away from Pocatello's wind, and I think Reno actaully is MORE windy! Oh well right. ;)
I think Sophie likes it here too. She had a hard time at first with the move, I think mostly because she didnt know what was going on, and she was very very clingy to me for the first week or 2, THANKFULLY she is over that now. Her and i like to go on walks everyday, and for Mothers day Nick got me a jogging stroller, so I have been trying to go Jogging with her too. It is much harder to jog while pushing a stroller than just jogging on your own, so I will admit I thought I was going to pass out the first time I went. We live on a big hill and I made the mistake of running UP it the first time I went out running. I thought I was going to DIE when I got done. So ever since then I have decided to take easier routes.
Nick has been doing his rotations here at the St. Mary's hospital and I think he is enjoying it for the most part. I think he is just going to be glad when he gets to be paid for working instead of us paying them thousands and thousands of dollars for him to work. :)
ANYWAYS... basically we are doing really good. We are glad to be here, but we do miss our families. Unfortuately our camera got packed during the move so we were not able to get pictures of our trip here, or our first few days here, but I eventually found it so I will post some of the pictures that I have.
This is how we slept for the week we were in the nasty smoke-filled apartment

She looks like such a chub here!! :)

Oh ya... also did I mention that my hair is FINALLY starting to get long... im pretty excited about it! :)

*Life's good!*

Alright, so i feel like I have been kind of slacking on the whole Blog thing. Maybe its because I didnt feel like anything cool was really going on in our lives at the moment,  but then I started thinking about it and I guess you could say that our lives are actually pretty good right now. Nick is finishing up his last semester of actual school work, which is super exciting for us because that means no more tests, which means lots of less stress for him, which in turn means lots of less stress for me! :) Its good all around.
Also we are moving to Reno in 2 months almost exactly from today, which seems crazy, but we are pretty excited about it. For those who don't already know this ( and i may have already talked about this in my last post) we are going there for Nick to do his pharamacy rotations for his last year of school. We will be there until December, and then if all goes as planned we will come back to Idaho, and he will finish off his rotations in the Burley/ Rupert area. The good news is that we were able to find some girls to rent our house while we are gone. Im very glad we found some, I was really stressed about it, but I think we have found some good girls to live here. HOpefully they wont trash it. ;)

ALso, Sophie is now 7 months old! I cannot believe it! Time goes by so fast! She can sit up all on her own now, and its really nice for me because I just sit her down with some toys and she will entertain herself for quite a while. I love it! :) I can actually get some things done around the house now. She still hasn't rolled over or even tried. I know she could do it if she wanted, but I honestly dont think she cares at all. haha Same goes with crawling/ scooting. Suppoedly some babies are supposed to be able to do that by this age, and once again I think Sophie could, but I dont think she even cares to try, and to be completely honest, Im ok with her just sitting for now. :)
ME and Nick were also able to go to the temple for the first time together since we have had Sophie. It was so nice to be able to go. My cousin Tina watched Sophie for us while we were there. She took some pictures, and they were so cute  I had to put them on here. This First one is of Sophie with Tina's cute little boy Caleb.

Caleb apparently was really excited to hold baby Sophie! ;)

I Love this one!

This is Tina! Her and Sophie had matching "I love NY" shirts on. By the way Tina is 9 months pregnant here, but doesnt she look so good!!! :)

I also went to Boise at the beggining of March to watch my sister Mandy's basketball team at State. They took third. It was a fun little trip for me and Sophie. Nick couldnt come because of school. :( I stayed in a hotel with my grandma and we took Sophie swimming one morning and she LOVED it! I have pictures of it too, but for some reason it wont upload those ones.

This coming week is Spring break. We are going to be heading to St. George, UT with my family. We go every year but for some reason I am like super super excited about it this year. I think its going to be so fun to have Sophie with us this time. Plus I am in desperate need of some sunshine! So there better be some! :)

JANUARY 2011

So I decided to wait until January was over to post anything for January. This way I can just go through everything that happened in January in one fail swoop. So, as you all know, this is the beginning of a new year, and so far I has been great! Sophie is getting so big, she is almost 6 months old now, and I cant believe it!
At the beginnig of January Nick and I were able to go to a Jazz game! They played the Hawks, and we sat on the 3rd row, ya thats right, the 3RD ROW!!!  On  the half court line!!!! It was so great! Nick's Uncle Jim got the tickets for us, it was so so nice of him, and we had SO much fun! (even though they lost terribly) My parents watched Sophie for us while we we drove to Utah. We went out to eat at Olive Garden (which is my favorite place!) and then to the game. After the game we drove back home to Pocatello, because we didn twant to leave Sophie all night. It was such a fun date for us. That was pretty much the highlight of our January this year. Other than that we have just been home, doing  what we do all the time. Nick is in his last semester of actual school work and then we are heading off to Reno, NV for his rotation from May to December. I will admit, Im a little nervous for the move. I have never lived anywhere but Pocatello, so kinda scary, but Im also super excited. We are still trying to find renters for our house, and between that and finnding an apartment in Reno, I have been a little stressed. I know deep down thats its all going to work out and be just fine, but sometimes I still cant help but worry a little. :)

Anyways here are some pictures of our January.... enjoy!

**~Christmas~**

We had such a fun Christmas this year! Well, of course we do every year, but I think that having Sophie with us this year just made it so great! I think that, at least for me, when you have your own children to celebrate the Christmas season with you understand the true meaning of Christmas more. I was thinking on Christmas Eve about how much the Savior has blessed our lives this year and how grateful I am for my wonderful little family and for our Savior and the gospel in our lives, and yes we got very spoiled from both sides of the family, and of course the gifts are wonderful, but I think my favorite part of Christmas was just being able to spend time with our families. I was really able to reflect on the things that are truly important in this life. It was great!
This year we stayed at my parents house on Christmas Eve and then we were there until about 2:00 on Christmas day. After that we headed to Burley to be with Nick's family, we were there the rest of Christmas day, Sunday (we went to church with all the family, but Sophie decided she didnt want to be quite at all during sacrament, so I spent the majority of the meeting out in the hall with her... needless to say, I don't think I got too much out of that meeting! :) Then Monday morning we all headed to Salt Lake to go to both of Nick's grandma's Christmas Parties. We came home Tuesday night. It was a nice trip... but I am glad to be back home. :) All in all, we had such a good Christmas!

This is is what we do every Christmas Eve, we call it "bowling for dollars". Its one of my families favorite traditions... basically we all bowl and my dad gives us a dollar for every spare and two dollars for every strike. Its great!

Sophie got so spoiled for Christmas!

4 months!

So Sophie turned 4 months on saturday, I can't believe it! Where is the time going? I had a doctor appointment today and I guess she is pretty small for her age. (not that we didnt already know that) She is in the 20th precent in height, 15th percent in weight, and her dang head is so small, its only in the 3rd percent! She must get the small head from Nick, because I have always had a rather large one! :)
Anyways...So, since she is now 4 months, we decided to have Sophie try solid food for the first time, well, if rice cereal counts as solid food. It seemed pretty watery to me. Anyways, I really dont think she liked it all that much, well actually I dont know,I couldnt tell really, because I dont even think she actually "ate" any of it. It basically all came right back out as soon as we tried to put it into her mouth. I guess that is pretty normal, though, for the first few times. Hopefully it will get better, because I'm kind of excited to start feeding her real food. :)

So not very many people know, but I have always really liked to draw. I haven't done it for a really really long time, but I got kind of bored one night and decided to draw a picture of Sophie. It turned out better than i was expecting, which is kind of exciting, because I really didnt think it would. But anyways... here is a picture if it. (by the way i think it looks much better in person, i couldnt really get a good picture of it.

So i just had to add some pictures of Sophie (what else am i supposed to do with the thousands of pictures i have of her, right? ;)

4 months old!

Just bored!

Nick is studying tonight, and I just put Sophie to bed and I decided that i would update what has been going on with our little family.... so I am sitting here trying to think about what we have been up to these last couple week and what I came up with is that basically not too much has been going on. To be honest though, nothing going on is kind of a nice little change! It seems like we have really had a crazy couple of months.
Right now though, I am just back to doing hair, I have been pretty busy with doing that and taking care of Sophie, who seems to think she gets to have my FULL attention ALL the time, and for some reason i give into her demands. :) She has started to be really smiley lately (well, smiley for her) and its fun to try and think of new dumb little things to get her to smile.
Nick has been super busy with school this week. I swear those pharmacy people don't like to give them breaks. But he was in a little city ping pong tournament thing and he ended up having to play my dad for the Championship... and he WON!! I think everyone in my family was happy to see Nick win, except for my dad! haha
We also put up our Christmas decorations for family night last monday. I love this time of year and its so fun having Sophie with us this year. :)

Nick with his precious ping pong paddle and his 1st place certificate!

I forgot to mention that nick has been trying new recipes. This time he made cranberry orange bread, it was delicious!

Nick is always the best at getting her to smile!

HAHA! So let me explain this one... So back when i was in cosmetology school we tried this new kind of waxing where you use a hard wax to wax the hairs in people's nose. Well i told my dad, and brother Brandon, and nick about, so we decided to go get the wax and try it on them, a few weeks ago. Well they all loved it (it doesn't hurt as much as you would think) So... nick tells his brother Jono about it, and we decided to try it out again. I get quite a laugh watching them stick popsicle sticks with wax up their noses and then ripping them out. Its pretty funny. Anyways... so this is them with the sticks up their noses!

Thanksgiving Weekend!

This year for Thanksgiving we went to Utah to be with Nick's side of the family. We had such a great time! We got there on Wednesday and went to Nick's sister Stephanie's house first, from there we were able to go out on a little double date with Steph and John to the new Harry Potter movie (I was pretty excited to see it, but Nick wasn't too thrilled) Nick's parents watched Sophie and Mary (Stephanie and John's little girl) while we were out. It was so fun to watch Mary with Sophie, she would come up to her and say " Oh baby Sophie, she's so cute!" It was so cute to watch.

After the Movie we went to Nick's grandma's house and stayed the night. The next day we were able to just hang out and have fun with the family. It was so nice to always have somebody there to hold Sophie. She has been a little spoiled with getting held, and now she thinks that she always has to have someone holding her. Its ok tho because I really like holding her. ;)

Friday morning, well actually it was more like Thursday night, Nick went to Walmart for the big black Friday sales. He really wanted a new TV. The one we have now is from like 1970 and its an oak panelled one that is too old for the TV remote to work on it, so you could see why Nick thinks its time for a new one. :) Anyways... he went around midnight and decided that since the sale on the TV wasnt until 5am that he would come home and sleep for a couple hours and then go back. So that is what he did. He woke up at 3:30am and went back to walmart and got his new TV. So now we have a new tv and nowhere in our house to put it. I told him it was our Chirstmas present and that we couldnt open it until then, but he said that he really really had to watch the Boise State game on it and thats why he wanted it in the first place. So... we opened it... basically im a push over!

Anyways tho, we had a really nice weekend. We were able to be  with my side of the family friday night and that was fun. Unfortunately Sophie is sick now. Its very sad, but she is a tough little girl so she will be ok. :)
Nick was so tired after waking up early and so him and Sophie took a little nap together.

This is my cousin, and best friend, Tina with her cute little boy Caleb and Sophie. We were watching all the guys play basket ball.
This is just a cute picture of Sophie!

She was so sick and was just cuddling up with me. It was cute, but sad. her poor little nose is so stuffed and she has a little cough.
