In Memory of Grandpa Bosen..

Each person has to deal with death sometime in their life. Whether that be a friend, spouse, parent, sibling, pet, grandparent, or great grandparent. I have personally been very blessed in this matter because I have not really had to deal with the death of a loved one before; but On October 24, 2013 my sweet Grandpa, Wendell Ray Bosen, passed away, and this was first time someone very close to me has passed.

I love my Grandpa Bosen and I really miss him, and I had a harder time with his death than I thought I would.
I miss going to my Grandparents' house and seeing him in his chair and having him ask "How are you?"
and me replying "I'm good"
 and, without fail,
his response, "well, good for what?" (EVERYTIME!) ;)

I miss when I was younger and walking up to him and he would always stick out his fist and say "POW".

We (my cousins and siblings) always thought it was funny when he did that.
I miss seeing him give Sophie a hug when she came in.

I miss giving him haircuts and pedicures and talking to him.
For those of you have met my Grandpa before know that he wasn't much of a talker and so these are probably the times I miss most, because I was able to just sit and talk to him while I did his hair. I was able to learn so much from him, and about him, on those visits.

I feel like there are so many great things I can say about him and my grandma as well. They are literally two of the best people in the entire world. They have always been a huge part of my life and have supported me and been there for me always in everything I do. I am so thankful for them.

On October 28th we had the funeral services in Pocatello.

On the back of the funeral program there was a poem  it was one my Grandpa always loved. I really like it, as well, and wanted to put it in here.
So here it is:

Abou Ben Adhem

By James Henry Leigh Hunt 1784-1859
Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:—
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said
"What writest thou?"—The vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered "The names of those who love the Lord."
"And is mine one?" said Abou. "Nay, not so,"
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still, and said "I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men."

The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest.
My grandpa's death was not unexpected, he was suffering, and although it was still so sad to hear that he had died, I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have that we will see him again. I know he is in a much better place and that he is not suffering any longer. I know that because of our savior, Jesus Christ, and his sacrifice for each one of us that we can be together forever as families. I know that that is true, and how grateful I am to have that knowledge especially in a time like the passing of loved ones.
My grandpa was such a great man! I hope that as he looks down on me I can make him proud always. I am grateful for the example he was, and still is, to me.
Thank you Grandpa! We love you, and we miss you, until we meet again.

Here are a few pictures I have of him with us.

Halloween! 2013

Our Halloween was SO fun this year! We all dressed up and went to our ward trunk-or-treat. The kids got WAY too much candy and I think Sophie is already looking forward to next year. Here are some pictures of us.

Here is a little background on each of the costumes

Cru- He is the little old man from the Disney movie "UP". I am usually one that likes to come up with my own idea for costumes but I saw this on pinterst last year and I HAD to do it for Cru... it was too perfect!

Sophie- She is Cinderella (of course!) I was really hoping to do something else for her costume, something that didn't involve princesses, but alas this is what she wanted to be so, yep... here she is, and I will admit she looked very cute, I mean "beautiful" as she would have me say. :)

Me and Nick- So I really wanted to do a "couples costume" but we didn't. So I decided to be a rag doll, mainly because I wanted to make this wig, and Nick is something... cowboy maybe? He came up with this costume himself. But don't let him fool you, because he has definitely wore this tassel jacket in real life, as in, not for Halloween.

And now its time for picture overload:

Ayla -minnie mouse, Sophie-cinderella, and Kyler-the football player

Grandpa Scott, and the chili dogs :)

Grandma Sue with the kids

Jono- the vampire

For real though, is he not the cutest?!!!
And he actually kept the glasses on most of the time... its a Halloween miracle!

Barker- Walker weekend

Last week was a big/ busy week for us, and one of the big highlights would have to be having our good friends, Cory and Megan Walker and their two adorable kids Brig and Ellie, come visit us for a couple days.
We LOVE the Walkers!
They came from Emmett, ID (which is about 2 hours from our house) and stayed with us Friday and Saturday. Nick and Cory were mission companions in Latvia together and have been friends ever since.
We had so much fun with them here and loved catching up, and hanging out. Thanks Megan and Cory, you guys are the BEST!

Here are a couple pictures of some of the things we did:

Are these kids not the cutest in the world? We are pretty sure we need to have an arranged marriage of Sophie and Brig ;)
